هذه دراسة بعنوان: (المُشتقَاتُ فِي المُعَلقَاتِ)، أوضح فيها سبب تسمية المعلقات، من خلال استطلاع آراء الباحثين القدامى والمحدثين في سبب تسميتها بالمعلقات, والخلاف في تعليقها, بالاستقصاء, والإحصاء, ومن ثم تثبيت الآراء المتميزة؛ المؤيدة والرافضة. والخلاف في عددها وأصلها وذکر آراء علماء العربية في أصل الکلام العربي, ومن أين اشتق؟ أمن الفعل ؟ أم من المصدر, لأن في الاشتقاق والمشتقات جمع للفعلية والاسمية, والحدث والزمن, والتغير والثبات والدوام, والفعل والفاعل ونائبه ومفعوله وصفاته, وزمانه ومکانه وآلته ومصدره، ثم التطرق لمکانة المشتقات في کل معلقة, وترکيز کل معلقة على أي من هذه المشتقات, ومحاولة معرفة أسباب ذلک, من خلال معرفة طبيعة الشاعر, والغرض الرئيس الذي تناولته المعلقة, والجو العام الذي قيلت فيه.Abstract:
This is a study entitled: (Derivatives in Mu'allaqat An Inductive Descriptive and Analytical Study). Clarify the reason for naming the Mu'allaqat, through polling the opinions of old and recent researchers on why they are called the Mu'allaqat, dispute in commenting, investigation, statistics, then to establish distinct opinions; supportive and rejected, the difference in its number and its origin and mentioned the opinions of Arab scholars on the origin of Arab speech, and from where it was derived? is it from the action? Or from the source?.

Then discussed the position of derivatives in each Mu'allaqa, focus on each Mu'allaqa on any of these derivatives, trying to find out the reasons for this, through knowing the nature of the poet, the main purpose that the Mu'allaqa addressed, and the general mood in which it was said.
