Abstract

The research dealt with the symbol of the pigeon and its psychological connotation, according to the Andalusian poet 'Ibn Khafajah', as the poet passed through stages in his life, between the days of youth and youth and his memories, and the stage after him and his abandonment from his homeland, 'blonde' and Andalusia, so the manifestations of nature were a certain good for him to express and broadcast his complaints, and among these appearances The 'pigeon', as the poet symbolizes through him psychological connotations in which he broadcast all his sermons and expressions, and they were an outlet for him, so we find his poetry full of emotion, sensitive to feeling, a lot of return to his memories, and he suffered from the bitterness of alienation, remoteness and abandonment, so the pigeon was that beautiful bird. His chanting, singing and crying reminds him of his homeland and the days of his forgiveness, for the poet dealt
with everything related to the pigeon as a symbol and did not deal with his being a bird, but he dealt with him in a symbolic human manner, so his voice was a symbol, his singing was a symbol, his crying as a symbol, his speech was a symbol and the collar of the pigeon was a symbol.
The symbol of the bath was also an important aspect in the construction of the poem according to Ibn Khafajah, whether in reading poems or within poems, by mixing it with poetic arts such as praise, mourning, spinning and insanity.
