أبو فراس الحمداني علم من أعلام الإمارة والشعر والفروسية وقد رسمت هذه القصيدة صور صادقة عن الفروسية عند أبي فراس الحمدَّاني فهو أسير بعيد عن الوطن ، وعن الأحباب ، وعن الحياة الرغيدة التى کان يعيشها ويتذکر بطولته ، ومکانته بين قومه مستخدمًا البيان لتبليغ المراد وتصوير الصراع النفسي الذى کان يملأ عليه أرجاء نفسه ، وکما صور الفروسية صور ما يتخللها من قيم راقية کالنبل وعزة النفس والوفاء والصبر والتحدي ، وفى قصيدتـه: " أراک عصي الدمع " الدليل على ما نقول ، ولقد حظيت قصيدة : " أراک عصى الدمع " لأبي فراس الحمداني بالعديد من الدراسات الأدبية ، والبلاغية النقدية ، ولکن هذه الدراسات منها ما رکز على الجانب الأدبي فقط ، ومنها ما کان جل اهتمامه بالجانب النقدي ؛ ولذلک أحببت أن أقدم للبحث البلاغي هذه القصيدة للتعرف على الألوان البلاغية الموجودة بها ورصدها وتحليلها بحسب ترتيب القصيدة .
